Al Maya Driving School — Rules & Conditions
Welcome to Al Maya! To ensure a safe, respectful, and professional learning environment for all students and instructors, please read and follow the guidelines below. By registering with us, you agree to these terms.
Enrollment & eligibility
Minimum age: Students must be at least 16 years old, or register up to 3 months before their 16th birthday.
G1 requirement: A G1 license is not required to begin the online BDE course, but is required before in-car lessons.
Registration: All students must register through the official Al Maya website and complete payment before starting any course.
Accurate information: Students must provide truthful and up-to-date personal information during registration.
Scheduling & attendance
Punctuality: Students must be ready at the scheduled pickup location on time. Late arrivals may result in a shortened lesson with no refund for lost time.
Cancellations: Lessons must be cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged the full lesson fee. Important
Rescheduling: Rescheduling is allowed subject to instructor availability. Repeated last-minute changes may affect your booking priority.
Instructor cancellations: In rare cases where Al Maya must cancel a lesson, the student will be notified promptly and the lesson will be rescheduled at no extra charge.
In-car lesson conduct
No impairment: Students must not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substances that may affect driving ability. Lessons will be refused and the session charged. Zero tolerance
No phone use: Mobile phone use during in-car lessons is strictly prohibited for both safety and legal reasons.
Respectful conduct: Students are expected to treat instructors with respect and professionalism. Aggressive or inappropriate behavior will result in lesson termination.
Appropriate footwear: Students must wear proper footwear suitable for driving. Flip-flops, heels, or bare feet are not permitted during lessons.
Payment & refund policy
Payment plans: Flexible payment plans are available. Please contact us by email or phone to arrange a plan that suits your needs.
Refunds: Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis. Completed lessons and administrative fees are non-refundable.
Secure payments: All payments are processed securely. Al Maya does not store sensitive payment information.
Receipts: A receipt or confirmation will be issued for every payment made. Please retain it for your records.
Certification & MTO compliance
BDE completion: Students must complete all required theory and in-car hours to receive their MTO-approved BDE certificate. MTO approved
Certificate processing: Upon completion, your certificate is submitted directly to the MTO Driver Education System and will be added to your driving history.
Insurance discounts: BDE certificate holders qualify for insurance discounts with most providers. Al Maya is not responsible for individual insurer decisions.
G1 wait reduction: Completing the BDE program reduces the G1-to-G2 waiting period from 12 months to 8 months, as per MTO regulations.
Service area & road test coverage
Included locations: Road test vehicle use is included for Drive Test Centres at Canotek and Walkley.
Extra fee locations: Additional fees apply for Smiths Falls, Cornwall (G2 & G), and Rockland (mobile Drive Test). Extra fee

Student safety: Al Maya is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and harassment-free learning environment for every student.
Privacy: Personal information collected during registration is used solely for educational and MTO certification purposes and will not be shared with third parties.
